COVID-19 GUIDANCE

We are open and running trips!

General Guidance

Our priority remains to protect the health of our staff, guests and our wider community. To help suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus this means staying within the government public health guidelines.

If you are vulnerable or you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of Covid-19, do not leave home to take part in sport or physical activity. People who are shielding should not undertake activities. If you are symptomatic you should self-isolate for 7 days; household members for 14 as per the NHS guidance.

All exercise taken must be consistent with current Scottish Government guidance on health, physical distancing and hygiene. There may be a need to adapt to changes in guidance at short notice. Information on Scottish Government’s approach to managing COVID-19 is available here.

Bookings

We are currently open and taking bookings in accordance with advice given from the Scottish Canoe Association,

It is our assurance that should your trip not be able to go ahead due Covid-19 government guidelines or Scottish Canoe Association guidance we will offer you the option to postpone your trip with us or receive a 100% refund.

All our gift vouchers will now be valid for an extra year, covering to the end of the 2021 season.

Our Process

We are now able to operate our trips to multiple social bubbles. Unless arranged for a private trip, our groups may include multiple guests. Physical distancing is still of high importance to us and we operate with 2m physical distancing measures in place, both between our guests and our staff. Of course, should it be required for us to enter the 2m bubble, we will endeavour to wear a mask is appropriate and possible.

Our canoes/kayaks and paddles are throughly cleaned with a Log 6 disinfectant between trips, to eliminate the possibility of contact transmission. Our soft equipment is cleaned in a soap solution and given a 72 hour isolation period between use as recommended by current government guidelines. As a result of accommodating this, we are running at slightly lower than normal capacity on some days so our equipment is maintained safe and secure for your and our safety.

As part of our booking process, we require you to fill in our new section of our booking forms regarding Covid-19 measures. We will retain your details for a period after your trip to be in compliance with contact tracing measures, this is kept in a secure location only accessible by staff if required to be shared for contact tracing.

We are now able to offer our overnight adventures again. We will still include food and drinks as part of our package as always, now cooked by our staff with Covid 19 measures in place. Both our day and multi-day adventures can now accommodate larger groups of different social bubbles but we will continue to observe social distancing measures during our adventures.

As we enter phase 3, we are delighted that our trips can resume to visitors. We are now open and running all our tours with new cleaning protocols between trips and at slightly lower than normal capacity. We would love to welcome you to join us back on the water for some much needed R&R.

21.06.2020: Little and Local now open!

As Scotland enters Phase 2 we are now able to offer ‘Little and Local’ excursions.
At the moment this is only for people who live within 5 miles of the area as travel for exercise is still limited to this. We will not accept anyone from further afield at this time.
Keeping to our local  communities we can offer:
Sea kayaking for Ullapool residents with Will
Canoeing for Achiltiebuie residents with Tim.

Times are hard and we really want to see local folk out on the water, so we are offering a significant discount.
1:1 guiding – £140 per day (33% discount)
2:1 couples -£65 per person (35% discount)
3:1 family – £50 per person (40% discount)
4>6 Family – £40 per person (50% discount).

This is our chance to offer some light relief to everyone locally who has been itching to get out on the water, improve your skills and gain some confidence while exploring the amazing coast we have to offer in Ullapool (by kayak) and Achiltiebuie (by canoe).

Of course, safety for you, us and our community is incredibly important. We will be re-opening under strict new guidelines as advised by the Scottish Canoe Association which have been approved by the Scottish government.

In short:
We will be at reduced capacity of one social bubble per day (up to 6 people from one household).
We will be offering trips to locals only for now.
Physical distancing of 2m will be in place throughout.
We will encourage those who have their own equipment to bring it with them to wear and can provide if needed.
All of our equipment will be cleaned and have a 72h minimum isolation period between use.

If you live in Ullapool or Achiltiebuie and fancy a day out with us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
