WHAT TO EXPECT

This is your chance to venture into some of Scotland’s most remote and wild areas. Using Canadian canoes, we will explore the inland Lochs around the Inverpollaidh and Assynt area. Have a go brewing hot chocolates, teas and coffees using our wood fired Kelly kettle, a perfect chance to enjoy a wee sustainable fire on a remote beach.  A great family adventure, we welcome all ages and abilities to join us. We can even walk up a hill via canoe journey.

A normal day for us starts at 10am at our pre-arranged location based on the weather and your requirements. Usually for day trips our meeting point is in the Stac Pollaidh car park with plans to canoe through Loch Lurgainn.  Our guides will kit you up with Dry tops and buoyancy aids before an introduction to the skills you will need on the water. No previous experience is required. If the wind is strong we may chose to do an A-B style journey using the breeze to push us all the way through the lochs with a series of small and rewarding portages in between which gives a great sense of adventure. We will pause on a wild beach to brew hot drinks on our wood fired Kelly Kettle and enjoy what we believe is amongst Scotland’s finest views.  We aim to return at approximately 4pm back to our start point, ready for you set off on your next adventure.

Our team are passionate about the local flora, fauna, geology and history. We love to teach about what lurks in the water and loch side, how the rocks that you paddle through formed and the folk stories around them. Keep an eye out for eagles too!
