Reaching Ullapool & Coigach
Ullapool is a scenic 55 mile drive north west of Inverness, our closest city, on the A835. This drive takes on average about an hour to do in a car, but we recommend taking some time to enjoy the scenery.
Continuing to Achiltibuie and Coigach is a further 24 miles, half of which is along a stunning and windy single track road. Ullapool to Achiltibuie takes on average between 45 minutes to an hour despite the shorter distance. We would like to encourage you to please ensure responsible driving on our single track roads, using passing places to allow those behind you to pass.
Our nearest Airport is Inverness Airport. Although out of Inverness itself, a regular shuttle bus is available to reach the central bus station in the city centre.
Train travel to Inverness is also possible. There is an overnight sleeper train option from London most days and numerous day trains from all across the country. To book tickets we recommend using Trainline.
Directly opposite the train station is the bus depot, where onward travel to Ullapool and Achiltibuie can be arranged. Logistically Inverness is often the easiest station to head to as more options are readily available for onward travel, although a scenic train journey further north to Garve is also an option which is the closest station to Ullapool.
North of Inverness, the most viable option to travel is by Bus. There is a service running between Inverness and Ullapool twice a day with collection options at Dingwall, Contin and Garve along the route. We recommend this the day before your scheduled trip with us.
To reach Achiltibuie there is a regular bus service with DE coaches, you can find the timetable here
The Stornoway to Ullapool ferry service operates with regular sailings all year.
