What to Expect
We select the exact venue and route of our overnight trips to best fit with the weather conditions. This allows us to be flexible to your needs and ability and maximise your enjoyment and ambitions. Our staff will be in touch within 36 hours of your trip commencement to confirm the meeting point, which is typically in Achiltibuie or Ullapool. Should we require a different location we will be in touch with good notice.
We meet at 10am on day 1 where we will provide you with camping equipment (we ask you bring your own sleeping bag) and food. Our guides will teach you the top tips and handy hints for packing our kayaks, it’s a great Tetris game.
Once on the water, the day is yours to choose. We can venture as far or as close as you desire into the islands whilst exploring the rugged delights of the elementally carved Torridonian sandstone coast. Whilst we travel it is our pleasure to help you develop and improve your paddling and wilderness skills, giving you greater confidence on and off the water.
When we are ready, we will select an island or headland to camp on. Our guides will help you in pitching the tents if you need. We also carry a large group tent, which gives us the chance to shelter from the rain, sun or midges should we wish. Even better, in good weather we can sit outside and enjoy the sunset.
Our guides will cook you delicious meals throughout to make sure we have all the energy we need. If you are feeling adventurous, after dinner we can venture back onto the water for a sunset paddle, one of the most magical experiences possible in a kayak before returning ashore to toast a glass of wine.
Whether out for one night or several, we will explore and camp at your pace.
On our final day, we return for approximately 3-4pm, allowing us time to unpack and organise our kayaks before heading onward to your next adventure.
On all of our trips we practice the Leave No Trace principles ensuring we leave our footprints as minimised as possible.
